The Project

Pride and Prejudice House will operate as an historically themed event centre, and will welcome its guests into the world of Jane Austen, just as we all have dreamed. Everything at Longbourn will be precisely as it was in Pride and Prejudice. Staff will be in costume, even in character. The house will be decorated just as it was in the show. It will really be just like Austenland. Our ticketed events and private rentals will allow you to eat at the dining table, sleep on the beds, even take a turn in the prettyish sort of wilderness on one side of the lawn.

Through the pre-sale of tickets and bookings, we are attempting to create this long-imagined dream. Select your tickets on the Kickstarter. You need to do a separate transaction for each ticket. And then, in another transaction, you can add the add-ons set out at the bottom of this page. (That is a lot of transactions. Is not it? Indeed it is, but that is simply how Kickstarter works. And the more you purchase, the closer the goal of Longbourn will become. Rest assured, all tickets are completely transferable, and do not expire.)

Welcome to Longbourn!

"There will be balls and parties every night!"

Luckily, the house itself is in great condition. The only work it needs is cosmetic, to make it look as it did in Pride & Prejudice.

We will be incorporating in Britain, and using the equity in the house to finance its operations in the beginning. We have the key staff members already retained, including the housekeeper, caretaker, manager and lead costumier. With these key people in place, we will be able to launch very soon after taking possession of the house.

Once the house opens, we will be running events almost every day, which will be an immense amount of work, but we cannot wait to dive in and make this crazy dream a reality.
